Acute Stress Disorder and Post-Acute Stress disorder (PTSD) both have similar symptoms – they just occur over different time periods. If ASD is left untreated, it can become PTSD.

How Does Stress Disorder Treatment Work?

We use a thorough assessment and diagnosis carried out by our experts to work out what your exact needs are. From there, we devise a dynamic and effective custom treatment program that addresses each facet of your being.

Psychological Support

We offer bespoke therapy packages, delivered by highly-trained professionals to help you reframe the past and cope with present symptoms.

We might use trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to replace any negative thinking patterns and harmful coping strategies, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy to increase your stress tolerance and emotional resilience.

Medication

Some people with ASD or PTSD benefit from short-term and long-term medication, including mood stabilisers or antidepressants. If you’re prescribed any medication, we’ll monitor your progress and can adjust our treatment accordingly.

Live in Support.

If necessary, we can arrange in-home support such as:

Live in Mental Health Nursing (RMN/CPN) – 12/8 hour shift availability
Visiting Mental Health Nurse (RMN/CPN) – 2/4/6 hour visits
Occupational Health
Therapeutic Support workers
Recovery Coaches – mental health coaches who can provide psychosocial support as well as life coaching.
